Abstract
This research is motivated by the phenomenon of transmutation, which one of which is a transition that is dominated by print news media into online news media. Researchers chose Pos Kota as the media under study, because Pos Kota is one of the media that has been around for a long time, since the new order era of 1970, and still exists today. The researcher uses the theory of media convergence to explain how transmutation of printed news is online to fulfill the reader's knowledge. Pos kota did a news transmutation because they saw several factors, the first being the trend of the transition of print media to online at the time. Secondly, Pos Kota is converging media because it sees an opportunity to expand classified advertisements which, according to Pos Kota's editorial secretary, have a lot of interest, which has the potential to boost the economy. In the convergence of Pos Kota, Pos Kota only added its platform through Poskota.id, not removing the printed version of Pos Kota. Pos Kota online version also still retains the characteristics of the printed version of Pos Kota, namely in the style of writing that is easy to understand, prioritizing criminal channels as the main news, and loose content that is also found in the online version.
