Abstract

Employee work behavior has become the focus of attention in the context of improving organizational performance. Improving employee performance is the most important aspect in achieving organizational goals, especially in the context of public services such as the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Public Health of the Ministry of Health. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between work behavior and employee performance at the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Public Health. This research was conducted using a cross-sectional study design and the sample size in this study was 89 employees determined through total sampling technique. The research data were analyzed by univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi square test. The results showed there was a significant relationship between the variables of social relations (P=0.022), expertise (P=0.005), work motivation (P=0.015), and initiative (p=0.009). The conclusion of this study is that the variables of social relations, expertise, work motivation, and initiative have a significant relationship with the performance variable.
