Abstract

Background: Anemia in pregnancy is a major health problem in developing countries with high morbidity rates in pregnant women. Most anemia in pregnancy is caused by iron deficiency and acute bleeding, even though the two interact with each other. Objective: This research aims to provide an overview of nursing care for Mrs. S with anemia in the third trimester of pregnancy in the Kp area. Pulo Kambing, East Jakarta. Method: This research uses a simple descriptive case study method in implementing nursing care for Mrs. S with anemia in the third trimester of pregnancy. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation and physical examination. Results: Anemia in pregnancy can cause patients to experience decreased hemoglobin levels, difficulty carrying out activities, inappropriate sleep patterns, and lack of exposure to information. The nursing problems found were ineffective peripheral perfusion, activity intolerance, disturbed sleep patterns, and knowledge deficits. Nursing interventions carried out on Mrs. S, namely monitoring vital signs, positioning, medication management, medication adherence support, energy management, sleep support, and diet education in treating anemia. After the implementation day arrived, the patient no longer complained of dizziness, the body felt weak, and felt nauseous when dizzy. There was a peripheral perfusion problem that resolved. Conclusion: Mrs. S was given nursing care for 3 x 60 minutes, and found complaints of reduced dizziness, reduced fatigue, decreased difficulty sleeping, increased level of knowledge. All diagnoses have been resolved because Mrs. S has understood and re-explained the educational explanation that has been given and is able to carry out all the actions that have been carried out by the author.
