Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of cooperation between Indonesia and Hyundai in developing the national electric vehicle ecosystem during the 2019–2024 period through the framework of the Indonesia–Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IK-CEPA). The study focuses on the forms of cooperation, investment implementation, technology transfer, and their contribution to the development of Indonesia's electric vehicle industry and sustainable development. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, literature review, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis was based on the Economic Partnership. The results show that the cooperation between Indonesia and Hyundai has supported the development of the national electric vehicle ecosystem through investments in electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facilities, technology transfer, and human resource development. This cooperation has also strengthened Indonesia's position in the electric vehicle industry while supporting the country's energy transition and carbon emission reduction efforts. However, stronger environmental governance and a more sustainable battery supply chain are still needed to achieve sustainable green development.
