Abstract
This study examines the impact of Anies Baswedan’s endorsement on the victory of Pramono Anung and Rano Karno in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election. The endorsement attracted public attention because it was given by Anies Baswedan, a political figure with strong influence and a substantial support base in Jakarta. This study aims to analyze the impact of Anies Baswedan’s endorsement on the victory of the Pramono-Rano ticket in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and literature review. The informants consisted of members of the Pramono-Rano campaign team, supporters of Anies Baswedan, and political observers. The study uses Joseph T. Klapper’s Political Endorsement Theory and Dan Nimmo’s Political Communication Theory as its analytical framework. The findings indicate that Anies Baswedan’s endorsement had a positive impact on the victory of the Pramono-Rano ticket by strengthening political legitimacy, shaping positive public opinion, and expanding voter support. Anies Baswedan’s credibility as a former Governor of Jakarta increased public trust in the candidates he endorsed. In addition, the use of social media and various symbolic political activities enhanced the dissemination of political messages to the public. This study concludes that Anies Baswedan’s endorsement was one of the factors contributing to the victory of Pramono Anung and Rano Karno in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election.
