Abstract
Breastfeeding problems in postpartum mothers are a common issue that can affect the infant’s nutritional intake and maternal health, potentially hindering the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this study is to implement and describe nursing care for a postpartum mother with breastfeeding difficulties. This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study method with one subject, Mrs. V (P1A0), in the Tulip Ward of RSU Tangerang Selatan. Data were collected through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation review. The assessment results showed complaints of insufficient breast milk production, difficulty in infant latching, and sleep disturbances. The nursing diagnoses established were ineffective breastfeeding, knowledge deficit, and disturbed sleeppattern. The interventions included education on proper breastfeeding techniques, infant care education, and support to improve sleep quality. After 3x24 hours of nursing care, the evaluation showed improvement in breastfeeding ability, increased knowledge, improved sleep patterns, and enhanced maternal confidence, indicating that most of the problems were resolved. The nursing care provided was effective in improving breastfeeding outcomes in postpartum mothers. It is recommended that nurses continue to optimize educational and supportive interventions in a sustainable manner.
