Abstract
Background: Intellectual intelligence is essential for children to face real-world problems. Previous studies have found that several factors influence intellectual ability, such as nutritional status, balanced nutrition intake, and parenting patterns. In Bojongsari District, 38.5% of students at SD Negeri 04 Bojongsari have below-average intellectual intelligence; Bojongsari's Human Development Index (77.86) is lower than Depok City's (81.37), and this district has the lowest average educational attainment in Depok City. Objective: To determine the correlation between nutritional status, balanced nutrition intake, and parenting patterns with the intellectual intelligence level of children at SDN 04 Bojongsari, Depok City. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design, stratified random sampling to select 42 respondents, and Spearman's test for bivariate analysis. Results: The analysis showed no significant correlations between nutritional status (p = 0.876; r = –0.025), balanced nutrition intake (p = 0.081; r = 0.272), and parenting patterns (p = 0.077; r = 0.276) with intellectual intelligence. Conclusion: Nutritional status, balanced nutrition intake, and parenting patterns do not show a significant correlation with children's intellectual intelligence. The study suggests that future researchers may investigate the correlation of other variables with children's intellectual intelligence.
