Abstract
The use of gadgets in early childhood has become a serious challenge in the digital era, often leading to addiction that can disrupt learning processes, social interactions, and children's health. This study aims to determine the communication patterns implemented by parents with young children to minimize gadget addiction. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The researcher collected data using observation techniques, documentation, and then conducted in-depth interviews with 4 (four) parents of students at TK Tunas Harapan Kita, Tangerang Regency, whose children are indicated to have excessive gadget usage habits. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and coding. The research results show that there are three communication patterns used by parents, namely permissive, authoritarian, and democratic communication patterns. The democratic communication pattern has proven to be the most effective in minimizing gadget addiction in children, as it involves children in setting rules and time limits for gadget use, allowing them to understand boundaries clearly without feeling overly pressured or restricted. The implication of this research is the need for education for parents regarding the importance of effective communication patterns to minimize gadget addiction in young children in the digital era.
