Abstract
Background: Stunting remains a serious health problem in Indonesia with a high prevalence compared to other nutritional problems such as undernutrition, wasting, and obesity. Adolescents, as future parents, have an important role in preventing stunting in the future. However, adolescents' knowledge about stunting and how to prevent it is still minimal. The initial study at SMPN 13 Depok showed that 81.3% of respondents had never received education about stunting, and 56.3% only knew information through TikTok. A total of 9 respondents did not understand the role of adolescents in preventing stunting, 5 female respondents rarely consumed blood supplement tablets, and 3 respondents never even consumed them. Objective: This study aims to analyze adolescents' perceptions of stunting prevention at SMPN 13 Depok. Methods: The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design on 187 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Results: A total of 52.9% of respondents had positive perceptions, while the other 47.1% showed negative perceptions. Conclusion: Positive perceptions held by adolescents are often influenced by their individual character and good knowledge about stunting prevention. On the other hand, negative perceptions can arise due to a lack of knowledge and understanding about stunting prevention. Suggestion: This study is expected to be a reference for future researchers to analyze the correlation or impact of stunting prevention.
