Abstract
Inclusive education is one of a way out for children with disabilities to be able to receive education together with those who are not disabled in the same regular school without discriminating against the differences and limitations that exist in each individual. As part of the United Nations (UN), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has made a significant contribution related to the fulfillment of educational rights for children in developing countries including Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of UNICEF in supporting the implementation of inclusive education for people with disabilities at the elementary school level in South Sulawesi in 2018-2020. The concepts used in this study are international organizations, people with disabilities, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inclusive education. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. Secondary data sources used in this study were obtained from the official UNICEF website, articles, journals, and newspapers related to programs run by UNICEF. The results of this study found that through the inclusive education model program at the elementary school level run by UNICEF together with Helen Keller Indonesia in 2018-2020 in Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency and Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, it has been successfully implemented in 62 schools in Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency and Bone Regency by involving 75% of public elementary schools and 25% of madrasahs to reach people with disabilities who participate in inclusive education.
