Abstract
The development of the digital era presents problems related to the use of digital media. The spread of negative content such as hoaxes, hate speech, and pornography is a matter of great concern because of the low digital literacy of the community. The importance of digital literacy education so that people can be wise in using digital media. To overcome these problems, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkominfo) initiated the Digital Literacy program through Instagram social media @literasidigitalkominfo as an educational effort to realize a digitally capable society. This study aims to analyze and describe the content of digital literacy education messages on Instagram @literasidigitalkominfo the period February – October 2023 based on indicators of four dimensions of digital literacy education messages, namely educational, containing educational processes, increasing knowledge and skills. This research uses a quantitative approach with a type of content analysis research. The unit of analysis in this study consisted of 60 images, 34 scenes, 142 texts, 14 verbal audios, and 2 nonverbal audios. The data are analyzed descriptively, presented in frequency and percentage tabulations. The coding was done by two people and to guarantee objectivity a reliability test of the Holsti formula was used and tested again with the Scott Pi index. The results showed that @literasidigitalkominfo channel contains digital literacy education messages in image uploads by 93%, videos by 97%, text by 100%, and verbal audio by 100%. The Holsti formula reliability test has very high reliability results of 0.80 – 0.88 and Scott's formula of 0.64 – 0.74, so it can be concluded that digital literacy education messages on Instagram @literasidigitalkominfo the period February – October 2023 have described educational messages.
