Abstract

8 out of 10 women with low self-esteem skip or choose not to participate in social activities because they don't feel confident in their appearance. The high number of active TikTok users in Indonesia is related to people's desire for information and inspiration. Today, many TikTok fashion influencers are used by women to seek fashion inspiration, as they often face difficulties in mixing and matching their daily outfits. @nazwaadinda_02 is one such fashion influencer who is consistently present to share fashion inspiration through her TikTok account. This study aims to determine how much influence fashion media exposure on @nazwaadinda_02's TikTok account has on fulfilling information needs. This study uses Media Exposure Theory. The subjects in this study were followers of the TikTok @nazwaadinda_02 account with a population of 3.3 million as of July 2024. This research uses an explanatory quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires or questionnaires distributed to followers of the @nazwaadinda_02 TikTok account. The sampling technique used probability sampling method with simple random sampling, using the Taro Yamane formula to find a sample size of 100 respondents. The data collected was then processed using SPSS version 29 software. Overall, the way of delivery and the content of the messages shared by @nazwaadinda_02 on TikTok social media are able to meet the five information needs of its followers. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that there is a great influence from the exposure of @nazwaadinda_02's TikTok fashion media on fulfilling information needs by 52.2%.
