Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is menstrual cramps accompanied by lower abdominal pain during menstruation, where 14 out of 15 adolescent women in MTsN 21 have experienced dysmenorrhea during their lifetime. This study aims to analyze the effect of giving pineapple juice (ananas comosus L) on the reduction of primary dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls at MTsN 21 Jakarta in 2024. The design of this study Quasy-experimental (the two group pre-test post-test design). The research population was 367 students of MTsN 21 Jakarta, with a sample of 44 respondents selected through the purposive sampling method. Students selected if they are experiencing primary dysmenorrhea, not allergic to pineapple, are willing and present. The data collection method used a pre-test post-test questionnaire and was analyzed by Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. The results showed that there was no difference in pain reduction between the experimental group and the control group (p-value 0.000<0.05). However, the mean rank value of the experimental group was greater than that of the control group. This means that although pineapple juice and watermelon juice have the same effect, pineapple juice has a greater contribution in reducing primary dysmenorrhea. It is recommended that adolescent girls consume pineapple juice to reduce primary dysmenorrhea pain.
