Abstract

Background: One of the triggers of problems in nutritional status is feeding problems in children. Mothers have an important role in the growth and development of toddlers, especially mothers' education and knowledge affect their attitude and level of concern in providing the right food intake for their children. Feeding rules are guidelines or basic rules in feeding practices. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between education and level of knowledge of mothers about feeding rules on the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of Pondok Aren Health Center. Methods: This study is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique where researchers will take respondents in each posyandu stratum in the working area of Pondok Aren Health Center with a total of 94 mothers with toddlers aged 12-59 months. Data collection was done by filling out questionnaires and measuring the height and weight of toddlers. Results: The results of analysis with Spearman showed that there was a relationship between maternal education (p=0.037) and the level of maternal knowledge about feeding rules (p=0.005) on the nutritional status of toddlers aged 12-59 months in the working area of Pondok Aren Health Center. This study is expected to help mothers to prevent nutritional problems in their children by applying feeding rules in feeding their children.
