Abstract

Pain is a person's perception of feelings that are influenced by an stimulus or pathological disease that causes uncomfortable effects. In patients with ca mammae, pain is chronic, but there are times when there is an increase in severe pain when metastases occur. There are various pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies that can be used in managing pain sensation. One of the non-pharmacological techniques that can be used in relieving pain is acupressure massage therapy using virgin olive oil. Acupressure therapy through healing touch is able to provide a sensation of relaxation for patients. Virgin olive oil also has many beneficial ingredients and anticancer substances Objective: To determine the effectiveness of acupressure massage therapy using virgin olive oil on the pain score of patients with ca mammae. Results: The results showed that there was a significant decrease in the pain scale in managed patients after being given acupressure massage therapy. Suggestion: It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for health agencies, for learning and further research.
