Abstract

The modern technological era has influenced all aspects of life, including the process of information dissemination, which can now be done through applications or websites. In application development, two critical aspects, UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience), are the primary focus to ensure optimal user interaction and experience. Educational institutions, governments, and companies have all adopted UI UX to effectively meet information needs. The local government of Depok City, through its smart city program, has developed the Depok Single Window (DSW) application to facilitate public access to services. DSW functions as a public service portal that provides easy, fast, comprehensive, and informative access to various services, eliminating the need for citizens to memorize multiple website addresses or visit service locations for information. The research stages include literature review, problem identification, analysis of the current system, testing the current system with UEQ, and then implementing UCD by determining the context of use. In the testing, 100 respondents participated in the first test, and 40 respondents were selected for the second test with the new design. Initial analysis of user experience showed that the average benchmark comparison was rated below average for indicators such as dependability, stimulation, and novelty, while the scales of attractiveness, perspicuity, and efficiency were rated poorly. After the redesign, the Depok Single Window (DSW) application showed significant improvement in user experience indicators. Attractiveness increased from 0.29 to 1.35, and perspicuity from 0.28 to 1.80, reflecting visual improvements and ease of use. Efficiency rose from 0.57 to 1.30, and dependability from 0.90 to 1.34. Stimulation and novelty also improved, from 0.51 to 1.24 and from 0.50 to 1.19, respectively. Each statement indicator now has a value above +0.8, indicating that the redesigned Depok Single Window (DSW) application provides a good user experience.
