Abstract

Pain and anxiety are common feelings which experienced by patients after under surgery. Both physical and psychological care are needed to be done in nursing care for the patients. Pain and anxiety management can be done with pharmacological and non pharmacological therapy. Music theraphy is one of non farmacological therapy.It has many benefits, including on overcoming the pain and axiety levels after surgery (postoperative). This study aims to analyze nursing care in postoperative laparoscopic patients on pain and anxiety levels with music therapy interventions. There were six respondents who participated in this study, where music were played for ± 30 minutes in recovery room and one day after surgery in the inpatient room. Behavioral Pain Scale and PQRST pain assessment tools were used to measure pain levels, and State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was used to measure anxiety levels. The result of this study showed the implementation of music therapy is effective to reduce pain and anxiety levels in postoperative patients.
