Abstract
Hypertension has a high prevalence throughout the world. It is estimated that around 1.13 billion people, with a ratio of 1 in 4 men and 1 in 5 women suffer from hypertension. The aim of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of hypertension at Dr. Suyoto in 2023. The research used a cross sectional study approach with a sample size of 70 respondents using consecutive sampling techniques. The research instrument uses a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using logistic regression test. The results of the study showed that the majority were in the elderly age category or aged 46 – 65 years (62.9%), male (57.1%), had a family history of hypertension (67.1%), obesity (60%), no smoke (88.6%), have high economic factors (45.7%), and have good family support (68%). The incidence of hypertension increases with increasing age (p=0.035; OR=6.250; 95%CI=1.110-35.202), male gender (p=0.000; OR=0.111; 95%CI=0.029-0.426), having a family history of hypertension ( p=0.016; OR=3.570; 95%CI=1.236-10.313), and being obese (p=0.048; OR=2.773; 95%CI=0.993-7.749). The most dominant risk factor for hypertension is the family history category (OR=3.570; 95%CI=1.236-10.313). Conclusion: There is a relationship between age category, gender, family history and obesity with the incidence of hypertension, the most dominant factor is having a family history of hypertension.
