Abstract

This study discusses and analyzes how the influence of population, odd-even policies and the application of progressive taxes on congestion in the concept of implementing the transportation economy in DKI Jakarta. The sample used in this study was 400 people who could represent the entire population. The results of this study indicate that population, odd-even policies and the application of progressive taxes have an effect on congestion that occurs in DKI Jakarta, on the other hand that a large number of residents can increase economic growth but can have a bad impact in the form of congestion which results in losses experienced by the residents themselves. because of traffic jams. The influence of the population on congestion is negative, as a result of the high movement/mobility of the population in carrying out daily activities, causing congestion which is not matched by the availability of infrastructure to accommodate the volume of passing vehicles. The odd-even policy has a negative effect on congestion, where this policy only diverts congestion to roads that are not implemented by this policy. The application of a progressive tax that aims to reduce vehicle ownership so that it can overcome congestion is considered still not able to solve existing problems.
