Abstract
The thesis entitled Legal Protection Efforts for Consumers Who Are Aggrieved in Buying and Selling Transactions on the Online Marketplace, this contains the first regarding how legal protection measures are taken against consumers who are harmed in buying and selling transactions on the online marketplace, and Second regarding how the responsibility of the manager of the online marketplace shopee for losses experienced by consumers when making buying and selling transactions. The results of this study indicate that the importance of legal protection in Indonesia regarding the protection of personal data is the obligation of Shopee as one of the organizers of the marketplace as a form of consumer data protection and responsibility. As stated in Law Number 5 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. However, consumers still often experience losses due to personal data in Indonesia due to the attention and seriousness of the government and the Shopee service providers in regulating consumer protection regulations in Indonesia which are still far from expectations.
