Abstract
Stroke is an acute nerve function disorder, caused by a vascular brain disorder with the number of incidents increasing steadily over the years. Unbalanced nutrition is one of the stroke’s risk factors that can be modified. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences of the nutritional status in ischemic stroke patients and hemorrhagic stroke patients at Fatmawati General Hospital in 2018. This research is an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The sample of this study is ischemic stroke patients and hemorrhagic stroke patients in Fatmawati General Hospital in 2018 which was taken using consecutive sampling method. A total of 148 patients were obtained as samples, with each stroke group consisting of 74 samples. The data itself was obtained through secondary data of medical records. The 55-64 yearS age range has the highest prevalence in both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, with a prevalence of 29 (39.2%) ischemic stroke patients and 23 (31.1%) hemorrhagic stroke patients. Based on gender, men have the highest prevalence of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes with a prevalence of 38 (51.4%) ischemic stroke patients and 46 (62.2%) hemorrhagic stroke patients. Results of T Independent test results indicate that there are significant differences between the nutritional status of ischemic stroke patients and hemorrhagic stroke in Fatmawati General Hospital in 2018 (p value=0,001) where ischemic stroke has a higher mean BMI than hemorrhagic stroke.
