Abstract

Social media has become an important part of people's lives and has the potential to convey educational information. One of the most popular and widely used social media platforms among Generation Z is Instagram. Despite being known as a tech-savvy generation, Generation Z's financial literacy levels remain relatively low. An Instagram account that provides educational content in the field of finance is @finansialku_com. This account actively shares information about financial planning, budget management, investments, and saving tips. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial education content messages on the Instagram account @Finansialku_com on the financial literacy of Generation Z followers. The Berlo communication model is used in this study to explain the process of conveying financial education messages from the Instagram account to Generation Z through four main elements: source, message, channel, and receiver. The research method used is a quantitative research method employing purposive sampling techniques. This study involved 100 respondents who are followers of the Instagram account @Finansialku_com and were given a questionnaire to complete. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between financial education content messages and the financial literacy of Generation Z followers on the Instagram account @finansialku_com. The calculated t-value is 7.295 > the table t-value of 1.984, and the significance level is 0.001 > 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
