Abstract
Background : One of the obstacles in post sectio caesarea mothers is related to the breastfeeding process. Mothers who do not breastfeeding their babies optimally will have breast milk that will collect, which can cause breast problems. Objective : This study was conducted to provide an overview of nursing care for post sectio caesarea mothers by applying cold compresses of cabbage leaves and geltex to reduce breast engorgement in the Dahlia Room, Bekasi Regional Hospital. Methods : This study was conducted on 2 patients, namely patients with cabbage leaf intervention and patients with geltex intervention. Data collection from pre and post test results using the NRS questionnaire to measure breast pain, SPES to measure breast engorgement, and measuring body temperature which was divided into 2 sessions where each session was 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 2 hours. However, there is a half hour break to continue the next session. Continued evaluation was carried out in the 3rd and 6th months via WhatsApp. Results : This study shows that cold compresses of cabbage leaves and geltex are effective in reducing breast engorgement. However, cold compresses using cabbage leaves are much more effective than geltex.
