Abstract

After the implementation of PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions), the government decided to change policies by introducing the new normal. With Covid-19 cases becoming more controlled, wedding organizers were able to resume hosting events normally, as they did before the pandemi. However, this was not the case for Lumina Planner Wedding organizer, which experienced a decline in clientele during this period. The lack of interest hindered Lumina Planner's growth and led to a decrease in employee motivation. Therefore, a communication strategy devised by management was needed to rebuild employee motivation. This study employs a qualitative method. Data collection techniques included observation and in-depth interviews, with informants selected through purposive sampling. The collected data were then analyzed through four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study found that Lumina Planner's management developed a communication strategy through four phases: situation analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The communication strategy employed by Lumina Planner involved optimizing the use of communication media and creating a conducive communication climate by applying five aspects: support, openness, trust, participative decision-making, and attention to high performance. These five aspects contributed to enhancing employee motivation. The implemented communication strategy successfully built employee motivation, as evidenced by progress and improved employee performance, enabling Lumina Planner to survive and continue to grow to this day.
