Abstract
The background of this study is based on the importance of improving the quality of health services as a benchmark for the success of a hospital. Data shows that hand hygiene compliance in some hospitals is still low, as is the high incidence of patient falls in several provinces. Low organizational commitment is one of the factors affecting the quality of health services. This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational commitment factors and the improvement of hand hygiene services and patient fall risk prevention at Dharmais Cancer Hospital Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 61 nurses. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results of the study show a significant relationship between organizational commitment and the improvement of hand hygiene services ( P Value 0,001; Cl 95% - OR 27,059 and Preventing patients from falling risk (P Value <0,001; Cl 95% - OR 14,548 ). This indicates that the higher the organizational commitment, the better the quality of services. Therefore, hospital management needs to enhance the organizational commitment of nurses to ensure better services and higher patient safety.
