Abstract

Social media is a symbol of digital technology used by many groups of individuals as a means to interact with each other, develop social networks, and exchange information online. Along with the ease of internet access, the use of social media by the public also continues to increase. Various platforms and features and facilities available on social media support the Indonesian people in their daily time to fulfill their personal needs, one of which is Instagram, which is loved by many millennials. Instagram is a mobile-based application known as a special platform for uploading photos and images instantly and sharing them on various other social media. Instagram is used to disseminate various types of information for daily consumer consumption, as well as the need for transportation modes, one of which is the Instagram account @gojekindonesia. This study aims to make the social media Instagram @gojekindonesia play a major role in the development of information to its users so that they can better understand the needs of transportation modes and meet their daily needs more broadly and provide content that can improve user services. This study uses a quantitative approach to be able to examine the effect of the intensity and use of social media Instagram @gojekindonesia on meeting the needs of followers of their Instagram account. The type of research used in this study is an explanatory research type, which looks at causal relationships that are causal in nature between research variables. This study uses a survey method, where the measurement tool (questionnaire) uses a Likert scale. The results showed that the intensity of media use did not affect the fulfillment of followers' needs. However, the use of media affects the fulfillment of followers needs.
