Abstract

The development of the bullion bank ecosystem in Indonesia and the increasing number of customers of Pegadaian Sharia Gold Savings indicate that digital gold investment is becoming an alternative investment option for the public. However, the preference of Muslim Generation Z in choosing Pegadaian Sharia Gold Savings as an investment instrument remains relatively low. This condition shows that investment preference is not only influenced by the development of digital investment services, but also by the level of sharia financial literacy, risk perception, and individual investment motivation. This study aims to analyze the effect of sharia financial literacy, risk perception, and investment motivation on the preference for digital investment in Pegadaian Sharia Gold Savings among Muslim Generation Z in Jabodetabek. This study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling of 102 respondents obtained through online questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS. The results show that sharia financial literacy and investment motivation have a positive and significant effect on the preference for digital investment in Pegadaian Sharia Gold Savings, while risk perception has no significant effect. This study is limited to Muslim Generation Z in the Jabodetabek area with a relatively small number of respondents, so the results cannot be widely generalized.
