Abstract
Technology that continues to evolve has driven transformation in the business sector, particularly in the centralized management of transactions and sales operations. As a company with multiple business units, the XYZ Group faces challenges in managing its Point of Sales (POS) system, as each business unit still uses separate systems that are not yet integrated with one another. This makes it difficult for management to monitor transactions comprehensively and hinders the process of making business decisions based on accurate, real-time data. Based on these issues, this research aims to design and develop a web-based Point of Sales information system with a multitenant architecture that integrates across business units within the XYZ Group. The system development methodology used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), chosen because it accelerates the development process through an iterative approach and direct user involvement at every stage of development. This system is equipped with transaction management, product management, sales reporting, and a centralized monitoring dashboard that can be accessed by each tenant according to their access rights. Additionally, the system also implements a cross-tenant data isolation mechanism to ensure the security and confidentiality of each business unit’s data. Functional testing using the black-box testing method demonstrated that all system features operate effectively in accordance with user requirements. Furthermore, usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method indicated a high level of system usability and was well-received by users.
