Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF THE FILM HOME SWEET LOAN ON THE ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE INDEPENDENCE OF GENERATION Z Fikri Suprobo Putra ABSTRACT The development of mass media in this modern era makes films not only serve as a means of entertainment, but also play a role in conveying social messages that can influence the attitudes of the audience. The film Home Sweet Loan presents by raising the reality in society about the independence of life in facing personal, family, and economic problems. This study aims to determine the effect of the film Home Sweet Loan on the attitude of independence of life of generation Z using social cognitive theory. The method used in this study is an explanatory quantitative method with a purposive sampling technique. In looking at the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable, there are three stages of testing, namely analysis test, statistical test, and hypothesis test. The results of the study show that the film Home Sweet Loan has a significant effect on the attitude of independence of life of generation Z. The results of the coefficient of determination test show the influence of the film Home Sweet Loan on the attitude of independence of life of generation Z by 2.5%. Based on the average analysis of each dimension, the narrative element dimension of the film variable is the highest dimension in influencing the attitude of independence of life of generation Z. This finding shows that narrative elements containing story aspects, such as characters, storyline, conflict, and setting, have a large role in conveying the message of the film Home Sweet Loan to the audience.
