Abstract
The implementation of health education in inpatient rooms is still not fully in line with the stages of therapeutic communication, while nurses' perspectives on therapeutic communication are influenced by their level of self-efficacy. This condition indicates the need to examine the relationship between nurses' self-efficacy and therapeutic communication perspectives in the implementation of health education. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' self-efficacy and their perspective on therapeutic communication in health education. This study used a cross-sectional approach and purposive sampling with a sample of 139 inpatient nurses from a population of 213. The univariate results showed that 62.6% of nurses had high self-efficacy and 50.4% implemented therapeutic communication well. The results of the chi-square test analysis showed a significant relationship between nurses' self-efficacy and therapeutic communication perspectives in health education with a p-value < 0.001. Based on the results, the higher the nurses' self-efficacy, the better their perspectives in applying therapeutic communication while providing health education. These findings are expected to form the basis for the development of self-efficacy improvement programs to support the quality of nurses' therapeutic communication in inpatient rooms.
