Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the role of connective action and digital citizenship in the rejection of Permenaker Nomor 2 Tahun 2022 on social media X in increasing public political awareness. The research method used in this study is content analysis with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by selecting X user posts discussing the rejection of Permenaker Nomor 2 Tahun 2022, as well as through interviews and literature reviews from various books, journals, and previous studies. The collected data was then analyzed with reference to connective action theory, the concept of digital citizenship, and the four aspects of political awareness introduced by Almond and Verba. The results of this study indicate that the rejection of Permenaker Nomor 2 Tahun 2022 on social media X is a form of crowd-enabled connective action. Through these rejection actions, X users carry out digital citizenship practices that are viewed based on the dimensions of citizenship learning, identity formation, and political participation. Furthermore, political participation manifested in the practices of connective action and digital citizenship has been proven to play a role in increasing public political awareness.
