Abstract
Posyandu health cadres have a role in conducting anthropomorphic measurements. However, there are still limitations in the knowledge of cadres in understanding the monitoring of the growth of premature babies using the right growth curve. The provision of health education with appropriate media, such as booklets, is expected to increase cadre knowledge and support the implementation of optimal posyandu services.To find out if there is an influence of health education on posyandu health cadres about monitoring the growth of premature babies.This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest design. The research sample consisted of posyandu health cadres who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group with health education and booklets, the control group only received booklets. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test for paired data and the Mann Whitney test for unpaired data. The results of the research study with the Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference in the level of knowledge between the intervention group and the control group, with a p value = 0.001 (< 0.05) showing that there was an influence of health education on increasing the knowledge of cadres about monitoring the growth of premature babies. Health education using booklet educational media has a significant effect on increasing the knowledge of posyandu health cadres, with more optimal results. This research is expected to be a reference for evaluating the effectiveness of media and health education to increase knowledge for posyandu health cadres
