Abstract
This study aims to analyze the dynamics of family communication on social media platform X through a netnographic study of replies to posts by the account @Denald. The research employs a qualitative approach using netnography, combining observation, documentation, and interviews with the account owner, users involved in the replies, and individuals who have families. The analysis was conducted using Nvivo software and the Indonesian RoBERTa machine learning model. The results show that social media functions as an open communication space that brings together private family values and public opinions. Social media also serves as an open dialogue space that blurs the boundaries between private and public spheres in family communication. Key findings include family system openness, interdependence among family members, the role of social media as a suprasystem, and processes of morphogenesis and morphostasis in response to public feedback. The study also reveals gender bias in receiving criticism, justification of strict parenting styles based on childhood experiences, psychological trauma resulting from family communication, comparisons among family content creators, and digital exclusion. This research contributes to understanding the complex dynamics of family communication in the digital era and highlights the importance of digital literacy and communication ethics in creating a safe and reflective public discussion space.
