Abstract
The development of technology and the ease of accessing social media such as Instagram have brought about changes in the way individuals obtain and distribute information. One of the social media accounts that plays a role in the dissemination of local information is the Instagram account @infocipete, which is a source of information about the Cipete area, including information about culinary. This study aims to determine the extent to which the quality of information on the Instagram account @infocipete (variable X) influences the provision of culinary information needs (variable Y) by its followers. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method and is based on the theory of usefulness and satisfaction. The main focus of the study includes the concept of information quality, Instagram social media, information needs, and providing culinary information needs. The sampling technique used was Accidental Sampling with a population in the form of followers of the Instagram account @infocipete. The sample used was 100 respondents and was obtained through the calculation of the Slovin formula. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 30. The results of the simple linear regression test showed a significance value of 0.001 <0.005, which indicates a significant influence between variable X and variable Y. Hypothesis testing through the t test produced a calculated t value of 21.668> t table 1.984, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This means that the quality of information has an influence on the provision of culinary information needs. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.451 indicates that the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable is 45.1%.
