Abstract
One of the complications of stroke is a decrease in motor functional abilities, where this complication can have an impact on muscle strength, to a decrease in the ability to carry out daily activities. Rehabilitation using additional therapy is very helpful for recovery in stroke patients, one of which is mirror therapy. This therapy has been proven to improve motor functional abilities through reflective illusions that stimulate nerves in the brain to re-optimize one of the limbs that experience weakness. This case study aims to analyze nursing care in post-stroke patients with the application of mirror therapy interventions to improve upper extremity motor functional abilities. Therapy was given to two patients for six consecutive days with a frequency of twice a day with a duration of 15-30 minutes per session. The Fugl Meyer Assessment Upper Extremity (FMA-UE) is used as a benchmark for assessment in this mirror therapy, which measures motor functional ability, joint pain, range of motion, and also sensation in patients. The results showed an increase in the FMA-UE value, which means that there was an improvement in the patient's motor function after 12 times of mirror therapy. Future research is expected to further analyze the effectiveness of mirror therapy on the lower extremities in improving motor functional abilities in stroke patients.
