Abstract
This research aims to analyze the influence of the documentary film Dirty Vote on the voting behavior of UPN Veteran Jakarta students in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election. This documentary raises issues related to alleged events in the general election, which could trigger changes in the choices of young voters, especially students. The research uses the theory of voter behavior by Richard R.Lau and David P. Redalawsk and a quantitative approach with linear regression methods to establish the relationship between exposure to the documentary film Dirty Vote as an independent variable and students' political choices as the dependent variable. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 112 respondents who had watched the film. The research results show that there is a positive and significant influence that documentary films have on students' political decisions, with a correlation of 0.373. This is proven by the results of a simple linear regression test producing an R Square value of 0.284, which means that the documentary film Dirty Vote contributed 28.4% to the voting behavior of UPN Veteran Jakarta students in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election. Even though it is influential, the contribution of the documentary film Dirty Votes on the voting behavior of UPN Veteran Jakarta students is not significant, with 71.6% influenced by other factors not examined in this research. This research concludes that the documentary film Dirty Vote has an influence on the voting behavior of UPN Veteran Jakarta students in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a reference in understanding the role of mass media, especially documentary films, in influencing the political behavior of young voters in Indonesia.
