Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health issue that affects patients' quality of life, particularly those undergoing Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) therapy. Good nutritional status plays a crucial role in supporting patients' physical function, emotional stability, and mental health. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and quality of life in CKD patients undergoing CAPD therapy at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto. The sampling technique used was total sampling, and data analysis was conducted using the Chi-square test. The study design employed a correlational method with a quantitative approach, involving 41 respondents undergoing CAPD therapy. Nutritional status was measured using the Simple Nutritional Screening Tool (SNST), while quality of life was assessed using the Kidney Disease Quality of Life (KDQOL-36). The analysis results showed a significant relationship between nutritional status and patients' quality of life (p-value = 0.014) using the Chi-square test. The odds ratio (OR) value of 5.417 indicates that respondents with a malnutrition risk status are 5.4 times more likely to have poor quality of life compared to those without a malnutrition risk. The OR lower and upper range (1.346–21.799) further strengthens this finding, indicating that the risk of poor quality of life significantly increases in the group with malnutrition risk status.
