Abstract

Knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of adolescents are vital elements in individual development, influenced by various factors, including peer group education. This study aims to assess the impact of peer education on the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of female students at SMA Cikal Serpong. Using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-post-test design, the study involved 88 students selected through stratified random sampling. The Wilcoxon test results revealed a significant improvement in the students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors following the intervention. Knowledge improvement was indicated by an increase in the average pre-test and post-test scores from 25.30 to 28.58 (p-value 0.000, CI 95% 2.500–3.500). Attitudes towards menstrual health also showed growth, with the average score rising from 34.15 to 37.57 (p-value 0.000, CI 95% 2.000–4.500). Furthermore, students’ behavior in implementing menstrual health practices improved, as reflected in the increase in average scores from 16.61 to 21.52 (p-value 0.000, CI 95% 4.000–5.500). The study concludes that peer education is effective in enhancing students’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors, making it a promising strategy for improving education quality and fostering character development among students.
