Abstract
Adolescent girls are one of the groups at risk of reproductive health problems, especially related to poor menstrual hygiene. Family resilience and health literacy play an important role in shaping the menstrual hygiene behaviour of adolescent girls. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family resilience and health literacy with menstrual hygiene behaviour in adolescent girls at SMP X Parung Panjang. The research design used a cross-sectional approach with proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The population in this study were adolescent girls at SMP Negeri X Parung Panjang. A total of 228 adolescent girls participated in this study. Based on the chi-square test, there was a significant relationship between family resilience and health literacy with menstrual hygiene behaviour in adolescent girls with a p-value of 0.001 family resilience and OR = 2.409 and 0.000 health literacy with OR = 16.162. The implication of this study is the need to optimise good menstrual hygiene behaviour for adolescent girls. Researchers recommend the results of this study to be the basis of service policy and the development of reproductive health of adolescent girls in school and family settings.
