Abstract

In the woodworking manufacturing industry, auxiliary tools such as 3-axis CNC routers have become increasingly prevalent. However, the development of these CNC machines faces several drawbacks, such as material surface damage primarily caused by the use of clamps and bolts, inefficiencies in creating bolt holes, and the risk of clamps colliding with the cutting tool. A vacuum bed, or vacuum table, serves as an alternative workpiece clamping tool that secures the workpiece without damaging the material surface, eliminates the risk of the cutting tool colliding with clamps, and maximizes the workspace for the cutting tool. This research utilizes a design and build methodology. The vacuum table is constructed with dimensions of 300×180 mm using MDF material.
