Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the BisKita Trans Pakuan program policy by the Bogor City Government as a new culture for the people of Bogor. Researchers explore the phenomenon of community adaptation in adapting to cultural practices through the use of transportation in the city of Bogor. Researchers focus on the adjustment patterns of the Bogor people using the U-Curve theory (Lysgaard, 1955) in carrying out daily activities using the Biskita public transportation facility through new policies created by the Bogor City Government (Ali & Asrori, 2005). In this research, the researcher assumes that self-adjustment is an activity carried out by individuals to fulfill their needs while still emphasizing harmonious relationships with other people and the surrounding environment and being able to face new situations that will be faced through aligning themselves with the norms and rules that exist in the environment. (Mahmudi, et al. 2014). The existence of a new policy from the Bogor City Government means that the community must adapt to the new orientation or habits that will be implemented. So, people must be able to have the ability to adapt and get used to themselves by understanding and always applying the new culture to their daily lives and being able to overcome cultural shock to individuals (Winkelman, 1994). This research aims to explain the pattern of people's adjustment to new habits through policies created and implemented by the Bogor City Government. This research uses a case study method on community adaptation in implementing a new culture through the policy of using Biskita Transpakuan in the Bogor City Square area.
