Abstract

Women workers are vulnerable to violence and sexual harassment at work. Seeing this phenomenon, of course efforts to fight for the fate of female workers are very crucial. One of the social movement organizations that is active in fighting for the rights of women workers is Perempuan Mahardhika. Providing understanding through gender awareness education is its main effort. This encouraged researchers to look at how Mahardhika Women mobilize resources in resolving the problem of sexual violence against female workers at KBN Cakung. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with in-depth interview data collection techniques. In data analysis techniques, researchers used the Resource Mobilization theory by Antony Oberschall. The research results show that there are important factors that support the Mahardhika Women’s organization in mobilizing it resources. As a social movement organization, Perempuan Mahardhika has succeeded in mobilizing resources which include moral, cultural, human, social organizational and material resources which are used to support the Perempuan Mahardhika movement in providing gender awareness to female workers. This resource mobilization ability then creates collective action and social networks that are organized as a women's movement with efforts to increase critical awareness of gender among female workers, especially in the KBN Cakung garment factory.
