Abstract

Researchers have several reasons for choosing PAN as the object of this research, First, the presence of celebrities in the political world, especially the post-reform legislature, has increased the number of participation from celebrities in the next election to the next election. Second, in the 2024 general elections, PAN stands out as a party that carries the highest number of candidates from among celebrities compared to other parties. In this context, PAN managed to nominate as many as 17 celebrities, signaling the party's commitment and strategy in utilizing the popularity and positive image of public figures from the entertainment world to strengthen their presence in the political process and Pileg. the methodology used in this research uses Descriptive Qualitative. primary data is obtained from direct interviews with sources, and secondary data comes from literature studies from journals, news websites, and websites related to this research. This research uses Pippa Norris' grand theory of political recruitment in 3 indicators, namely the certification aspect, the nomination aspect, and the election aspect. In the process of analysis of field data both primary and secondary data, the nomination aspect has the most findings and effects. Overall, PAN applies a combination of centralization and decentralization in the candidate nomination process by implementing a mechanism that involves active participation of candidates and party administrators in the nomination process and implementing a comprehensive and participatory candidate selection process, taking into account various aspects such as ability in the field, popularity, and attachment to the electoral district with a scoring method.
