Abstract

This research aims to discuss the form of Indonesian gastrodiplomacy in supporting nation branding in the Netherlands for the 2019-2023 period. This research uses the concepts of gastrodiplomacy and nation branding. This research uses qualitative methods and a descriptive approach with primary and secondary data sources, namely through interviews with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in The Hague, Netherlands and related documents, articles and previous research. The results of this research show that Indonesia has implemented four forms of gastrodiplomacy in 2019-2024 based on Juyan Zhang, namely food event strategy, education strategy, media relations strategy, and coalition building strategy. By continuing to implement forms of gastrodiplomacy, especially with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia has succeeded in continuing to strengthen its nation-brand in the Netherlands as a country rich in cultural diversity and an interesting country to visit.
