Abstract

Social media has developed significantly and has even become a part of everyday human life. One of the social media platforms widely enjoyed in Indonesia is YouTube, a site that provides video content on the internet that can be a source of entertainment, social phenomena, and even political information. Kaesang Pangarep's YouTube channel by GK Hebat features content called "Podcast Depan Pintu," which discusses social and political issues combined with comedy that can attract viewers. This study aims to examine the influence of the "Podcast Depan Pintu" show on the political perceptions of students at UPN Veteran Jakarta using Cultivation Theory. Cultivation Theory studies the impact of watching television or a program in mass media in shaping viewers' conceptions of social reality. The research method used is quantitative, with a survey in the form of a Google Form questionnaire involving 97 respondents from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UPN Veteran Jakarta. The sampling technique used is purposive random sampling. The research results found that the calculated F value is 42.893, which is greater than the F table value of 3.94, indicating that there is an influence of the "Podcast Depan Pintu" show simultaneously on the political perceptions of students at UPN Veteran Jakarta. Based on the T-test, the calculated T value is 6.549, which is greater than the T table value of 1.985. The research concludes that there is a significant influence of the "Podcast Depan Pintu" show on the political perceptions of students at UPN Veteran Jakarta.
