Abstract
According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) stunting is defined as the inability to achieve ideal growth due to malnutrition and recurrent diseases that occur during childhood. Mother knowledge is one of the important factors that cause children to experience Stunting. The government is making efforts to prevent Stunting or malnutrition, one of which is by conducting the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother knowledge and compliance with the implementation of the local supplementary feeding program to prevent Stunting in Kecamatan Sawangan. This study used quantitative research methods with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used stratified sampling as many as 192 mothers whose children received local food supplements. The analysis test used was Fisher Exact. The instruments used in this study were Knowledge and Compliance Questionnaire. The Fisher Exact test results show that there is a relationship between the two variables with a p-value of <0.001 (p<0.05). There is a relationship between mother knowledge and compliance with the implementation of the local supplementary feeding program. Health services are expected to be able to provide health education about Stunting and education about nutrition to mothers and it is hoped that researchers can further expand the scope of factors studied, such as family support factors and economic factors.
