Abstract
Students are formed into individuals who are diligent in learning by measuring success in terms of scientific competence, non-academic abilities and attributes in accordance with the Achievement Index set by the university. Data according to Moutinho's research explains that medical students show a high prevalence of feelings of anxiety, stress and depression either due to emotional stability or culture shock for migrant students. This study aims to determine the relationship between residence status, place of origin and emotional stability on the academic achievement of students in the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta medical study program. This research is an observational analysis with a cross-sectional method. The sample was obtained using a simple random sampling method with a sample calculation of 84 using the Slovin formula. Primary data was obtained using a questionnaire with the Goldberg Big-Five Factor Markers instrument which has been proven reliable (cronbacb a 0.91). It was found that there was no significant relationship between origin (p=0.558) and residence status (p=0.274) on academic achievement due to the possibility of one's ability to adapt to the microsystem environment in the place one lives now. The significant relationship (p = 0.001) with the strength of a weak negative correlation (p = -0.267) between emotional stability and academic achievement is estimated by the anxiety factor which is the potential for students to get maximum results
