Abstract
Residents of RW 8 Kedaung Village, Depok still reduce waste by burning the waste. Household waste management by burning waste will have a negative impact on the environment so that a sustainable environment is not created. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge to residents of RW 8 Kedaung Village, Depok, especially housewives groups, about the importance of proper household waste management, and how to use household waste into compost. The method of educational activities carried out is socialization and group educational activities to make compost. To see the knowledge of residents about household waste management, it is necessary to do a pre-test and post-test. The results of the activity found that the knowledge of residents before socialization was still not good with an average value of 3.19. After the socialization was carried out, residents' knowledge increased to very good with an average score of 5.57. Residents of RW 8 Kedaung Village, Depok also carried out educational activities in groups to make compost. This group education activity is considered useful and effective in attracting residents of RW 8 Kedaung Village, Depok to realize that there are other ways to manage household waste besides burning the waste. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that local residents' awareness in household waste management as a form of sustainable environmental implementation so that generations continue to be trained to preserve their environment.
