Abstract
The evolution of technology and social media platforms like TikTok has significantly impacted lifestyle transformations and appearances. Rania Maheswari Yamin stands as a prominent fashion influencer consistently sharing inspiration for traditional clothing styles through the social media account TikTok @raniaayamin. This study aims to determine the extent of influence exerted by social media exposure from the TikTok account @raniaayamin (variable X) on the informational needs regarding traditional clothing styles (variable Y). The theoretical framework employed in this research is the Uses and Gratifications theory. Key concepts include media exposure, social media, TikTok, informational needs, and traditional clothing styles. The research methodology is quantitative and explanatory, utilizing simple random sampling techniques with a sample size of 100 followers from the @raniaayamin TikTok account, determined through the Taro Yamane formula. The results of the coefficient of determination test indicate that 29.5% of the informational needs concerning traditional clothing styles are influenced by social media exposure from the @raniaayamin TikTok account, while the remaining 70.5% is affected by unexplored factors. The hypothesis test results reveal that a higher level of social media exposure from the @raniaayamin TikTok account correlates with increased informational needs in traditional clothing styles.
