Abstract
Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is one of the effects of computer use. At the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, office staff work on computers for 8 hours per day and there is also a command center that works for 24 hours. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors associated with CVS among South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Office staff in 2023. This research was conducted in March-June 2023. This research was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was the office staff of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, totaling 66 people. This research uses total sampling. The data were obtained from the measurement results and from the results of filling out the questionnaire. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate with the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between age OR=6,500 (95%CI:2,174-19,435), duration of other digital devices OR=4,000 (95%CI:1,268-12,622), length of work OR=7,200 (95%CI:1,392-37,231), duration of computer use OR=4,622 (95%CI:1,470-14,531), distance from monitor screen OR=6,500 (95%CI:2,174-19,435), and local lighting OR=11,815 (95%CI:3,659-38,153) with CVS. It is expected that office staff can reduce the use of digital devices and adjust the monitor screen distance properly.
